SEATING, SAVING, REDUCE, REUSE, RE-PURPOSE, SOMETHING FROM NOTHING

Using only “waste” materials we set about creating a seating area which was as much about aesthetic as it was about environment.

Waste and packing materials are a problem in our industry just as much as any other so when it came to install a bespoke seating area to finish off a garden overhaul, we suggested constructing said seating using the excess paving slabs from her patio and the wooden crates that those same slabs had been delivered in.

It was a pleasure to work with a client who was happy to give us full trust to get creative whilst also reducing our environmental impact, something which we have been passionate about for some time. (You can read about it in more detail here.)

We wanted to ensure the quality and longevity of the build in the same way we would if using brand new materials so we created a prototype which incorporated blocks which we had stored at our yard (also “waste” from previous projects) to create a solid frame to affix the slats and slabs to.

As you can see from the photos, the finished product looks fantastic and provides a talking point as well as a functional space for entertaining and relaxing.
